Meet Sawyer Austin Wilkey!

It was October 24th, 2012 and we got to the hospital at 6 am ready to have our baby! I was so nervous and already exhausted because I had only gotten 45 minutes of sleep the night before. The nerves had me so wired! So I curled my hair, made sure the house was immaculate, and checked that our hospital bags were packed about a million times! I'm sure Austin thought I was nuts. He seemed so relaxed!
Before we left he gave me a blessing and I knew that the Spirit would be with us and watching over us. It sure helped me calm my nerves and enjoy what was ahead of us.

I felt ginormous! I was so ready to get my baby out and snuggle on him! 

I am so lucky to have Austin as my eternal partner. He stood by my side the entire time and when I got scared  he was the only one I wanted. He knew exactly what to say to calm me and keep me focused. At one point I was stuck at 6 cm and wasn't progressing. The nurse had mentioned that I might need a C-section and that's when I broke down. Austin went to the waiting room where our dads were and asked them to join him by giving me another blessing. My dad was the one to bless me this time. He blessed me to have a safe delivery and that everything would progress the way it was supposed to. I felt so much love from those three men at that moment and I had so much faith that what was said would be true. 
It didn't take long and I was at 10 cm and ready to push! Dr. Groom got there just in time and Sawyer Austin Wilkey was born at 5:59 pm.

I didn't think it was possible to love Austin any more than I already did...
and then I saw THIS!
Austin is seriously the most handsome guy I have ever laid eyes on, and its not just for his looks. It's everything about him. He is an amazing dad and husband. Sawyer has a strong, loving, giving, and funny dad to look up to! 

By the end of the night, we were both beat. But really, it didn't matter! All we wanted to do is hold  and love on our son! He was so beautiful!

We loved Mountain View Hospital, but that food was disgusting!

I was loving that Sawyer had so much hair! 

My mom made Sawyer the CUTEST hats! This one is one of my favorites. He is our little minion!

When I say that Austin is perfect, he REALLY is! He changed almost all of his diapers and because he offered too. I didn't have to ask at all.

My sister, Amanda, and I switched babies for a little while. lol.

My Aunt Jean is like a second mom to me and I was so glad that she could be there for me and meet Sawyer. She and my Uncle Greg live in Colorado and I miss them so much!

Granny Ellie is so great with Sawyer. She always asks if she can keep him and take him home. lol!

 Sawyer was able to come home for a night and in the morning we took him to the doctor to check his jaundice levels. They were really high so our little man had to spend a few days in the NICU under the lights. :[ That was the hardest three days of my life! I cried the entire time I wasn't with him. I couldn't wait for him to get better and come home again!

 We were able to take Sawyer out from under the light for about 30 minutes every three hours to feed him and love on him. Even though he was a few days old, he had a silly little personality.

He was so snugly ALL the time! All he wanted to do was sleep.

After what felt like forever, We were finally able to take our baby boy home!

Sawyer's cousin, Collin, couldn't wait to meet him! He was so excited to have him in the family!

Cody was pretty excited too! These boys are SO cute!

 With Sawyer finally home, it was time to start looking forward to all the holidays coming up! The first one being Halloween :D

The Beginning!

I'm Haley and this is my husband Austin... but he wasn't my husband in this picture. This was before I became a Wilkey, so I guess we have some catching up to do!
We met a few different times in 2009 but didn't actually start dating until 4th of July, 09. I guess you could say we felt the fireworks! haha! We continued dating for about a year and a half until he finally popped the question on Christmas 2010. I went the whole day thinking he was going to ask me only to be disappointed every moment I thought it was going to happen. It wasn't until right before the night ended that he asked me to kiss him and there was my ring in between his lips! He couldn't have planned it any better.

We were married on May 07, 2011 at 11 am in the Las Vegas, NV LDS Temple. It was so beautiful! The whole day was absolutely perfect. The Temple ceremony is so spiritual and held so much meaning for me and Austin. It is a great blessing to have the Temple to close and that we were able to be sealed for time and all eternity. It's one the most incredible feelings to know that after this earth we will still be together as a family. And that's what we had just become.. a family!

Our parents planned us such a beautiful reception for that evening. It was outside under a ceiling of twinkling lights with purple and blue flowers everywhere... Exactly what I wanted. Our families worked so hard to put it all together and we were so grateful.
Other than the way it looked, the dancing was my favorite part! Austin and I had our first dance to, "Can't Take My Eyes Off You" by Lady Antebellum. It was kind of our first chance to spend some time alone that day and we were in complete disbelief that everything we had worked up to was actually happening.. and that was just the beginning.
Ever since then it has almost felt as if we were living in a dream! We honeymooned at the Trump Tower in Las Vegas for two days and then in California for five days. Three of those days in Cali were spent at Disneyland and I'm pretty sure the other two days we didn't leave our hotel room. hehe ;)
When we got home, everything easily fell into place and we quickly adjusted to living with each other. I think it came so easily for us because we had dated for a good while and already knew each others quirks. We didn't have too many surprises... other than we both HATE doing the dishes with a PASSION! But being the awesome hubby that Austin is, he does them most of the time. :D Happy wife = Happy life right?! lol.
Well, we were married for about 9 months when I got pregnant. To say I was baby hungry was an understatement... I was more like baby starved! When anyone else announced they were pregnant, I swear my uterus was cursing me out. I was so jealous! My uterus and I tried to hold out for a year but at 9 months, I think my soon to be womb was yelling at Austin too. We were both ready to have a little minion!

On February 2, 2012 I peed on a stick and it was positive :D I enjoyed the excitement for a couple weeks and then spent the rest of the 5 months literally puking anything and everything I put into my stomach... Not to mention my boobs were killin' me! No fun! I finally got some and hated them!
But what was fun, was hearing the heartbeat for the first time. It was April 18th, 2012 and it was perfect! And such a beautiful miracle.
When we found out it was a boy, we were ecstatic!

We had a boy name already picked out from when we were dating. It was Sawyer Austin (after the "Lost" character and his daddy). It didn't come to  be as a surprise that he was a boy, I had a dream before our ultrasound that I gave birth to him in our kitchen. But he wasn't a baby in my dream, he was a toddler and was walking around saying, "mama". lol. As ridiculous as this dream was, he was the most handsome little guy I had ever laid my eyes on.
I loved my 6th month, I really enjoyed every second of that month and felt SO cute! But those last few months after were so uncomfortable. I was so ready to just get him out and meet him already!

We're almost caught up, but until next time...
